A company incorporated ten months ago wants an alcohol, live music and film licence over Great Lines Heritage Park in Chatham. Comments close on 14 October.
A company has applied for a premises licence covering Great Lines Heritage Park in Chatham, the open ground above the town centre that holds the Chatham Naval War Memorial.
The application asks for alcohol sales, late night refreshment, films, plays, live and recorded music, and performances of dance. Residents have until 14 October 2026 to comment.
The notice is published by the Gravesham and Medway Shared Licensing Service, which handles licensing for Medway.
What the application asks for
The notice names the premises as Great Lines Heritage Park, Lines Terrace, Chatham, Medway ME4 4NA. The applicant is Stradivarius Group Ltd.
The licensable activities applied for are:
- sale by retail of alcohol
- late night refreshment
- plays
- films
- live and recorded music
- performances of dance
That is close to the full range of activities a premises licence can authorise.
What the public notice does not say is what is actually planned. It gives no event, no dates, no hours and no description of how much of the park would be used. The operating schedule and the plans are part of the application, and the notice says they can be inspected in person.
Who the applicant is
Stradivarius Group Ltd is registered at Companies House under company number 16854010.
The register records that it:
- was incorporated on 13 November 2025, ten months before this application
- is an active private limited company with four officers
- gives its registered office as Studio I1c, Witan Studios, Witan Gate, Milton Keynes MK9 1EF
- is classified under SIC code 64209, “activities of other holding companies not elsewhere classified”
- has filed no accounts yet, with its first set covering the period to 30 November 2026 and due by 13 August 2027
None of that is unusual in itself, and a new company is entitled to hold a licence. It does mean there is no trading history on the public record for anyone weighing the application.
Why the site matters
Medway Council’s own directory entry lists it at Lines Terrace, Chatham, open 365 days a year, with cycle routes, nature walks, walking routes and a wildflower area. The council notes it has no play areas and no formal football pitches.
Standing on it is the Chatham Naval War Memorial. Historic England records it as grade I listed, list entry 1267787, first listed on 5 December 1996, with the statutory address “Great Lines, Chatham”. Grade I is the highest of the three listing grades.
What it means for you
Anyone can comment. Under the Licensing Act 2003 a representation has to relate to the four licensing objectives: crime and disorder, public safety, public nuisance, and protecting children from harm. A comment about noise late at night counts. A comment that you would rather the park stayed as it is, on its own, does not.

Representations are normally copied to the applicant, so they are not anonymous. If nobody comments, the licence is granted as applied for. If someone does, a licensing sub-committee hearing decides it.
The notice also carries the standard warning that making a false statement in connection with a licence application is an offence under section 158 of the Licensing Act 2003.
